One of the experiments I tried when we were recently in Dell City was to take a series of pictures that I could process to make a star trails picture.
I picked the spire of the adobe church where our very kind friends allow us to stay as my foreground focus and tried to point north so that the star trails would go around the spire.
Processing the sequence of images was surprisingly easy – calibrate, integrate using the maximum function instead of the average function, and then stretching and tweaking.
This is the first time I’ve tried to make this kind of picture, and I was quite pleased with the results!
Have you tried to create anything new recently?
